Meeting on Park Slope Historic District Extension

The following reminder comes from Stephanie Doba, Chair of the Outreach Subcommittee, and Peter Bray, Chair of the Historic District Committee of thePark Slope Civil Council.

Tomorrow, Monday, March 14, from 7:00-8:30 PM, the Park Slope Civic Council will host an informational meeting about the proposed Park Slope Historic District extension, at Old First Reformed Church, 729 Carroll Street at 7th Avenue in Park Slope (use Carroll Street entrance).

The Council is behind the effort to extend the landmark district to encompass the North Slope -- roughly from Carroll Street to Flatbush Avenue and east of 5th Avenue to the existing historic district boundary.

To succeed, the Council must demonstrate to the Landmarks Preservation Commission that local property owners support landmarking.  Volunteers are being recruited to do outreach to the residents of the proposed North Slope expansion area: distributing flyers, gathering petition signatures, staffing a table or booth at events, etc.

You don't have to live in the North Slope or be a property owner to volunteer.

There will be pizza.
