Sheepshead Bites reports that Coney Island lawyer and nightclub owner Michael Levitis, facing disbarment and 6 months in jail for his role in the Carl Kruger pay-to-play scandal, has been cast, with his family, in the Lifetime Brighton Beach reality show.Levitis, who pled guilty earlier this month to lying to the FBI about his involvement in an influence-peddling scheme involving Kruger in which he pumped thousands of dollars from a fundraiser at his club into the senator's campaign warchest, doesn't think it's too soon.
Lifetime says the show, which stars Levitis' wife, Marina, will be "family oriented" featuring a multi-generational look at the lifestyles of Russian women: partying, dating and working in Brighton Beach.
But according to some observers, the show is shaping up to be the "Real Housewives of Brighton Beach."
Lifestyle has assured Brighton Beach civic leaders that the show won't play on Russian stereotypes.
