Apple Bank Opens 86th Street Branch

At 9 AM on Monday, June 29, Apple Bank will open a new Bay Ridge branch -- its 18th Brooklyn location -- at 426 86th Street, between Fourth and Fifth Avenues.

Regular business hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Thursday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM; and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

According to its opening announcement, the 150-year-old community-and-branch-focused bank was drawn to the bustling 86th Street shopping strip by Bay Ridge's increasingly diverse and vibrant population.

Tottenville native Rosemary Vitale, newly promoted to bank vice president, will be moving over from its Bensonhurst branch on 18th Avenue and 67th Street to manage the Bay Ridge location. Her community involvement includes membership in the Federation of Italian Americans and the Chinese-American Federation.

Apple provides consumer and small business banking services in the metropolitan area through its network of branches and an online banking service. The state's second-largest state-chartered savings bank, it has close to $12 billion in assets and 78 branches in New York City, Long Island and Westchester.
