Fort Hamilton MWR Hosts "Run for the Fallen"

On September 13, USAG Fort Hamilton MWR will host the "Run for the Fallen" 6K race.

You can register via this link.

The race originated on Flag Day, 2008, when a dedicated team of American runners ran cross country from Fort Irwin, CA to Arlington National Cemetery, logging one mile for every Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine killed in action in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Over a ten-week period, team members marked each mile with an American flag and a placard remembering the life of a fallen service member.

Every year since, runners from around the world have joined Run for the Fallen in the annual remembrance, with more than 50,000 runners logging over 200,000 miles since 2008.
