86th Street Repaving

City Council Member Vinnie Gentile's office has announced that the city Department of Transportation will repave 86th Street, one of southwest Brooklyn's major commercial corridors, from Gatling Place in Bay Ridge to Stillwell Avenue in Bensonhurst, this summer.

Gentile has allocated $400,000 for the paving project, which he said was necessitated by the damage done to the street by the extraordinarily harsh winter of '13  and the resulting wear on vehicles.

The DOT will resurface the street in three segments this summer, with repair crews working overnight in order to minimize the impact on traffic and business.
