On Monday, May 26, Prospect Park's LeFrak Center will transition from an uncovered ice-skating rink into a giant water play area for children up to age 12. (Adults over age 18 must be accompanied by a child 12 and under.)
The kid-friendly water feature at LeFrak Center includes 41 jets that form clear streams on the water's surface, so children can play while keeping cool on hot summer days.
The water play area will be open daily from 10 AM to 7 PM through Labor Day.
Admission is free to the public.
The 16,000-square-foot covered roller-skating rink at the LeFrak Center offers a range of summer clinics for both novice and experienced skaters on weekday evenings and weekends. Programs include learn-to-skate (youth and adult), roller derby clinics, advanced instruction, and gameplay for roller hockey enthusiasts.
There is an admission fee for skating and skating-related services.
Summer Hours for public roller skating are:
- Wednesday - Thursday between 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Fridays from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and
- Sundays from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
