Paterson Hosts Melendez Fundraiser

Seeking the 2014 endorsement of the Bay Ridge Democrats is forty-four-year-old Staten Island resident Marybeth Melendez, a blind single mother of three and a clinical crisis and emergency management professional challenging Republican incumbent Nicole Malliotakis in the 64th Assembly District (SI East Shore/Brooklyn).

Melendez, an honors graduate of the College of Staten Island with a master's in counseling services, volunteered to provide emergency 24-hour counseling to Sandy survivors through "A Vision of Hope", a program she helped found.

Melendez' campaign will focus on the continuing Hurricane Sandy recovery process, economic and small business development, education, and worker's and veterans' rights.

Former New York Governor David Paterson will host a fundraiser for Melendez from 6-7:30 PM on Tuesday, April 22 at the Statler Grill, 136 33rd Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues) in Manhattan. The suggested contribution is $50.

RSVP via marybeth4assembly@gmail.com. Checks can be made out to "Friends of Marybeth" and mailed to Marybeth Melendez c/o Nick Popolo, Treasurer, 41 Challenger Drive, Staten Island 10312. You can also contribute online through the campaign website.
