Bay Parkway Community Job Center Turns 12

On Friday, April 11 at 11 AM, City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, Council Member Vinnie Gentile, Borough President Eric Adams and other local elected officials will join the Worker's Justice Project and local businesses for a ceremony commemorating the 12th anniversary of the Bay Parkway Community Job Center at 8973 Bay Parkway (next to Kohl's) in Bensonhurst.

The Bay Parkway Center, one of the city's most respected day laborer hiring halls, connects small businesses and homeowners with a variety of skilled workers.  The Center, which also provides safety training, education and worker empowerment, has contributed to the local economy by offering safe work at a living wage of $22.50 per hour -- the highest in the region.

The Center has so far placed more than 7,000 workers, offering them protection against wage theft, unfair labor violations and unsafe working conditions.
