Concert for French Horn and Piano at Good Shepherd

On Sunday, April 6 at 3:00 PM, the Art on the Corner series at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 7420 Fourth Avenue in Bay Ridge, will host "An Afternoon of Music for French Horn and Piano", featuring works by Verdi, Nicolas de Kruff, Schumann, Shostakovich, Mozart and Jean Francaix, performed by French hornist David Moldenhauer and pianist Richard Pearson Thomas.

The suggested donation is $10  per person.

David Moldenhauer, a founding member of PentaWinds, is a graduate of Interlochen, Princeton and New York University School of Law, and regularly participates in the Chamber Music Conference and Composers Forum of the East at Bennington College.

Composer/pianist Richard Pearson Thomas's works have been performed by the Boston Pops, Covent Garden Festival, Houston Grand Opera, Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, Banff Centre, Skylight Opera Theatre, and Riverside Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir. A graduate of the Eastman School and USC, he is on the faculty of Teachers College/Columbia University, and has taught at Yale and the University of Central Florida. His work Race for the Sky, commissioned as a 9/11 commemoration, has been performed by the Westchester Philharmonic Orchestra and in recitals nationwide.

Art on the Corner is a 9-year-old community-based arts ministry of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd aimed at making southwest Brooklyn audiences more accessible to artists -- and making art more accessible to local audiences.
