As regular Buying Club shoppers already know, the fresh produce is excellent: mostly organic and locally-grown, and the number of offerings is constantly growing. Look for roasted salted cashew pieces, green organic lentils, wild blueberry preserve, sunflower seed butter (no salt, no sugar) and organic milk chocolate Easter eggs.
New this time are fair trade Dominican coffee from not-for-profit Giving for Living; hydroponically-grown Bibb lettuce from Finger Lakes Fresh, which hires the disabled; and Cross Creek Farms cranberry apple butter, produced by family farmers in Berkshire, N.Y., with fruit from Cornell University Orchards in Ithaca, N.Y.
If you have a small local food producer to recommend, please pass the information along to the Buying Club's sourcing team.
