Some numbers from the poll results:
- One in three New Yorkers polled had been "seriously injured in a traffic crash or know someone who had been seriously injured or killed in traffic;"
- 67% of those polled support "bringing protected bike lanes and pedestrian islands" to their neighborhoods;
- 86% of those polled support "the city installing more speed enforcement cameras in school zones."
- Queens Boulevard;
- Atlantic Avenue;
- Sixth Avenue;
- The Grand Concourse; and
- Hylan Boulevard.
The dangerous streets chosen by those New Yorkers also show up in the list that T.A. is fighting to fix.
If the next mayor of New York City is listening, these voters have mapped out the five locations for his new DOT commissioner to re-christen as Complete Streets.
