Senator Golden has scheduled a 9/11 event for Monday, September 9 at 6PM at the Cort Club, at 2648 Gerritsen Avenue in Gerritsen Beach.
At the free event, the 9/11 documentary "An American Requiem" will be screened. Recommended for adult audiences, the film features the first-hand accounts of 9/11 first responders.

Annual ceremonies commemorating the 11th anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001, hosted by State Senator Marty Golden, are scheduled for Tuesday, September 11 in two southern Brooklyn locations.
Senator Golden will host a September 11 memorial in Marine Park, at Fillmore Avenue and Marine Parkway, at 6:00 PM, and a second memorial at the American Veterans Memorial Pier (69th Street Pier), at Shore Road and Bay Ridge Avenue, at 7:30 PM.
Community residents are invited to gather in solemn memory of those Bay Ridge residents who lost their lives on that day. The program, at Marine Park and at the Memorial Pier, will feature inspirational speeches, patriotic music, and a candlelight vigil with the families whose loves ones were lost on 9/11.
Veterans Pier in Bay Ridge is home to Brooklyn's monument, "Brooklyn Remembers", dedicated to the sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, neighbors and friends lost on 9/11.
