"John Singer Sargent Watercolors" at the Brooklyn Museum

The Brooklyn Museum is hosting "John Singer Sargent Watercolors", which opened on April 5 and will be up through July 28 in the Morris A. and Meyer Schapiro Wing on the 4th Floor.

The exhibit, the culmination of a collaborative study by the two museums, marks the first time that the Sargent watercolors bought by the Brooklyn Museum and the Boston Fine Arts Museum in the early twentieth century have been shown together.

The ninety-three watercolors in the show provide a once-in-a-generation chance to see some of Sargent's finest work in the medium, traditionally viewed as a sideline to his major works in oil.
