BAC Harborlore Festival

George Kortsolakis’s “Crete”
From May 10 to June 15, the Brooklyn Arts Council Folk Arts will present the Harborlore Festival, 12 free events celebrating the role of water in the artistic traditions of Brooklyn's diverse immigrant and diaspora communities.

Hear folk songs and tales and watch dance performances from Jamaica, Bangladesh, Grenada and other countries. Learn fish tales from a Garifuna storyteller from Belize. Join in on conversations with folklorists and other experts in water lore, and more.

On May 18, Harborlore will bring immigrant water traditions, new and old, to the annual Bay Ridge Viking Fest.

All events are free.
