Students at Floyd Bennett School Host Roundtable on Child Hunger

At 10 AM on Monday, March 18, the student government of Floyd Bennett School (P.S. 203), at 5101 Ave. M in Flatlands, will host "What Will You Bring to the Table?", a roundtable discussion on child hunger.

Many students at Floyd Bennett, a Title I school, face the risk of hunger.

The roundtable will engage students, faculty, parents, PTA members and neighbors in discussion, create a plan of action, and make a list of talking points.

Part of an initiative by generationOn, these events address child hunger through discussion and service projects to raise awareness and bring collective action to bear on the problem. The goal is to engage 300,000 children and teens in creating a million more meals for hungry children in the U.S.

Nearly 17 million American kids go hungry on any given day of the year -- one in five doesn't know where the next meal is coming from.
