Spring/Summer Events at Bay Ridge Historical Society

The Bay Ridge Historical Society, which meets at 7:30 PM every third Wednesday of the month in the Community Room (between the East and West Buildings) at Shore Hill Residence, 9000 Shore Road in Bay Ridge, has announced its 2013 spring/summer schedule of events -- all are free and open to the public.

  • Wednesday, March 20: Adrienne Sosin and Joel Sosinsky, who authored Arcadia's The New York City Triangle Factory Fire, will present photos and video of The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire and discuss its continuing relevance.
  • Wednesday, April 17: Webmaster Kevin Walsh of popular site Forgotten New York will give a presentation on New York City's forgotten and undiscovered places.
  • Wednesday, May 15: Manhattan Borough Historian Michael Miscione is scheduled to speak.
  • Wednesday, June 19: Dr. Christian Zaino of the Dyker Heights Historical Society will give a presentation on the history of Dyker Heights, including century-old maps, drawings and photos of original homes and notable buildings. Bring questions about your house, and any photos, maps, drawings and historical artifacts you want to share.
