Notes: Bay Ridge Democrats' February Meeting

According to an email blast from Bay Ridge Democrats' president Justin Brannan, the back room at the Bridgeview diner was packed Thursday night for a spirited discussion on gun-control reform and a visit from Abe George and Ken Thompson, challenging veteran Brooklyn District Attorney Charlie Hynes in this year's Democratic Primary.

Hynes is expected to address the club at a future meeting.

On Thursday's gun control reform panel was Kristen Pettit, a politically active Bay Ridge mother of two who is among of the organizers of "One Million Kids for Sensible Gun Policies".  The organization will march on the Mall in DC later this year.  Read more about Kristen here.

The Bay Ridge Democrats' next monthly meeting will be on Thursday, March 14, when the club will host a forum for Public Advocate candidates and a presentation by the Riders Alliance, a membership organization of NYC subway and bus riders dedicated to improving public transit through the creation of a powerful political constituency.
