Brooklyn Activist Committee at the YWCA

The Brooklyn Activist Committee, which recently toured Sheepshead Bay in the runup to a campaign for new bike lanes there, hosts a monthly borough-wide meeting focused on taking alternative transportation -- biking, walking, buses and trains -- to the next level in Brooklyn.

This year's to-do list, including a membership drive, has been postponed for a visit from a special guest, Transalt Executive Director and bike advocate Paul Steely White.

At the meeting, White will discuss the advocacy role he wants local safe streets activists to have in the November mayoral election in New York City.

If you live in Brooklyn and want to join the battle for safer streets in the wake of the Complete Streets Act, come to the BAC meeting from 7 - 8:30 PM on Thursday, February 28 at the Brooklyn YWCA, 30 Third Avenue in Brooklyn.
