Industry City and BK Style Foundation will host their fourth annual BK Fashion Week{end}, a unique four-day fashion event featuring emerging and established designers from around the world, from February 28 through March 3 at Bush Terminal on the Sunset
Park waterfront.
This
premier fashion event will be held at 241 37th Street in Sunset Park. The runway
show starts at 7:30 PM each evening. Red carpet guest photos at 6:30 PM, with nightly cocktail reception at 7 PM.
BKFW, kicking off its 15th season, will “Honor
the Masters, Celebrate the New,” showcasing the 2013 Fall/Winter collections of new and established designers from around the world and celebrating style icons like Yves Saint Lauren, Chanel and
Gianni Versace.
Luis
Valenzuela, internationally acclaimed ethical avant garde fashion
designer and visual artist, will host the opening night show, which features eco-friendly fashion.
Also featured will be pet
couture designer Anthony Rubio, whose 12 dogs will walk the
runway. Rubio, featured by New York Fashion Week, was photographed at the Westminster Dog Show for a New Yorker Magazine spread.
Opening night will feature an auction by Build a Better Planet
(BABP) to promote environmental awareness through fashion. Featured items will be co-destination trips to Miami and Nicaragua. Proceeds go to support BKFW charities, including Soles4Souls, the
Paul Robeson Theatre and SCIP.

produced by Mad Fusion.
A nightly cocktail reception will feature a premium bar and an
internationally recognized DJ, followed by nightly runway productions, including:
o February 28: eco-friendly designer Luis Valenzuela;
o March 1: Nigerian and Ghanian designers;
o March 2: Futuristic Polish designer Joanna Hawrot.
o
March 3: Brooklyn-based designers, including exotic handbag designer Torregrossa, and American and European couture and ready-to-wear designers.
Open casting call for models before the event.
Free B.A.G. Accessory
Expo on February 16 and 17 will feature top trending beauty
products and accessories. Open to the general public.
Industry City at Bush Terminal offers 11,000 square feet of communal
exhibition and event space to artists and cultural organizations.
Built in the early 1900s, Industry City is a manufacturing, office
and retail complex on the Brooklyn waterfront. Once the world's biggest manufacturing and distribution center, Industry City helped make Brooklyn a major 20th century
seaport.

Fashion Week{end}, is an emerging world fashion event for aspiring designers. Each season of BKFW has gone to support
charity, including The Abner Louima Foundation, MTV
Staying Alive Foundation and the Japan Society. BSF supports issues including human rights, HIV/AIDS awareness, community development
and leadership training.
