Bay Ridge Democrats at the Bridgeview
All are welcome.
Refreshments will be served.
The meeting will feature a spirited panel discussion about gun violence and gun control in the wake of the Newtown, Connecticut mass murder. Featured special guests will include Bob Muldoon, of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence; Jenna Adams, Legislative Counsel, NYS Assembly; and Kristen Pettit, Organizer, One Million Kids for Sensible Gun Policies.
Also invited are candidates for Kings County District Attorney in the upcoming Democratic Primary Abe George and Kenneth Thompson.
From working to re-elect Democratic City Councilman Vincent Gentile to playing an active role in the races for New York City Mayor, Public Advocate and Borough President, the club is poised for an exciting year, said club president Justin Brannan in an email blast this week.
Thanking all who came out for the Third Annual State of the Union Watch Party at the Longbow, Brannan called this year's attendance "inspirational."
After three years of strong growth in which the club has mounted competitive campaigns for U.S. Congress, N.Y. State Assembly and N.Y. State Senate, he said, it is now on the city's political map -- why both Public Advocate Bill deBlasio and Comptroller John Liu dropped by to watch the State of the Union with the club at the Longbow last week.
