"A Bad Workman Blames His Tools"

On Sunday, March 3, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM, the public is invited to join teaching artists from the Brooklyn Philharmonic for a free family workshop, "A Bad Workman Blames His Tools", at the Edith and Carl Marks Jewish Community House of Bensonhurst, 7802 Bay Parkway.

Russian folk music was born centuries ago and thousands of miles away in a rich peasant culture, brought forth by musicians who used whatever was at hand:  from wood blocks to washboards to tablespoons. The remarkable and distinctive folk music they created has had an enormous impact, from the orchestral music of the 19th century up to the modern period.

The public is invited to join the musicians from Brooklyn Phil in a hands-on discovery of these creative traditions.
