"Tuesday night was bittersweet. We lost the battle but not the war.
A broad wave of support carried President Barack Obama to a tremendous victory - capturing nearly 63% of the vote. President Obama now joins Andrew Jackson and FDR as the only other Democratic President to win re-election with over 50% of the vote.
And while the results of our local races weren’t exactly what we wanted, there is much to be proud of.
I want to begin by thanking all of our club members and every candidate who stepped up on behalf of our party: Mark Murphy, Andrew Gounardes and John Mancuso.
I am humbled by your hard work and dedication. Your love of what our city, state and country truly stands for and your commitment to our party’s principles effectively galvanized us when we needed it most.
And although we fell short, together we sent a very strong message.
Make no mistake, our flag has been planted and our fight for better representation and a better New York is far from over.
This wasn’t our last chance - far from it...
