The shelters offered in the outer-boroughs are pre-fab fish boxes (recycled Styrofoam) covered with thick plastic liners measuring 34" L x 18" W x 18" H, viewable at www.wintercatshelter.com.
The Manhattan shelters are the Neighborhood Cats model, made of gray-painted Styrofoam and measuring 24" L x 24" W x 16" H.
Both types come stuffed with straw and will accommodate two to three cats.
All shelters are $10 each -- in cash or check made out to Neighborhood Cats at time of pick-up.
Only 50 shelters are available for each borough, so first come, first served, two shelters to a caretaker.
All shelters, other than Neighborhood Cats shelters, will be available only at the following dates and times:
- Staten Island: Saturday, October 13 - 11AM - 4PM;
- Queens: Sunday, October 14 - 12PM - 4PM;
- Bronx: Saturday, October 20 - 9AM - 1PM;
