According to Democratic Congressional challenger Mark Murphy, he out-raised his Conservative-Republican opponent, Congressional Representative Michael Grimm, by 25% in his latest campaign finance report, seen as evidence that Murphy's campaign is gaining momentum in its final weeks.
Between July 1 and September 30, Murphy raised $323,000 to Grimm’s $250,000, which Murphy sees as a sign that Grimm donors are backing away from Grimm's increasingly toxic image.
The Murphy camp sees Grimm's legal bills, which top $300,000, eliminating the financial advantage Grimm had at the start of the campaign.
While Grimm spends his time casting himself as a victim of circumstance, Murphy said, it's Grimm's constituents, left on their own, who are the real victims.
