The program has selected 8 young companies -- all committed to opening an office in New York State -- developing new technologies in care coordination,
patient engagement, analytics and message alerts for healthcare
The 8 selected companies are:
NYDHA's $4.2 million first-phase investment is expected to create approximately 1,500 healthcare-related jobs over the next 5 years and attract as much as $200 million in venture capital investment, making New York a hub for the emerging digital health technology industry.
The partnership is the biggest health IT accelerator program in the United States, and the first to put young companies together with senior-level healthcare providers.
The Accelerator is expected to support providers in the state's Medicaid Redesign initiative, shifting New York from a fee-for-service to a managed care model.
