Golden Hosts Free Health Events in October

State Senator Marty Golden is hosting free flu shots for seniors, the uninsured and those the city Department of Health recommends get annual flu shots due to a health condition.

Flu Shots

Flu shots will be administered at no cost by the New York Visiting Nurse Service at three locations in October:

• Thursday, October 4, 2012, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Bay Ridge Manor, 476-76th Street;
• Tuesday, October 9, 2012, 10:00 AM -2:00 PM at Sts. Simon and Jude, 294 Avenue T;
• Wednesday, October 10, 2012, 10:00 AM -2:00 PM at Salt Marsh Nature Center, East 33rd Street and Avenue U.

Mammograms 

Golden and the American Italian Cancer Foundation will host free mammograms for eligible women over 40 who have not had a mammogram in the past year on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at 3604 Quentin Road, and Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 10:00 AM -5:00 PM at 7408 5th Avenue.

Cardiac and Stroke Symposium

Also in October, Golden and Maimonides Medical Center will host a Cardiac and Stroke Symposium with Maimonides Medical Center on Monday, October 22 at 7:00 PM at Sts. Simon and Jude at 294 Avenue T. RSVP is required. Attendees will receive free gifts, and dinner will be served.
