Bay Ridge Senior Center $10,000 Shy of New Van

Local Boy Scout troups joined a walkathon for the Bay Ridge Center this month to raise funds for a new passenger van.

The center's old van was totaled by the driver of a stolen car.

The money generated by the event, after a matching grant from Bay Ridge Toyota was added to the $12,730 proceeds, put the center about $10,000 away from its goal.

The center's next fundraiser is scheduled from 4-6 PM on December 4 at the Dyker Golf Course.
