Murphy: Congress Needs an "Extreme Makeover"

Democratic congressional candidate Mark Murphy brought TV celebrity Ty Pennington along to the Norwegian Day Parade in Bay Ridge on Sunday to underscore Murphy's tongue-in-cheek message that Congress needs an "Extreme Makeover".

Speaking to families and small business owners at the parade, Murphy praised Brooklyn's celebration of diversity, saying that Congress could use some of that.

The fourth-generation Staten Islander and father of two daughters, running against Conservative/Republican Congressional Representative Michael Grimm in New York's 11th District, says he wants to bring back honest congressional leadership.

If elected, Murphy said he would help return middle-class American values to an out-of-touch Congress and work with those Republicans who want to further the nation's economic recovery while protecting Social Security and Medicare.
