The Kings County Memorial Day Parade, the oldest in the country, will step off at 11 AM on May 28 at 87th Street and 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge, and follow a route along 3rd Avenue, Marine Avenue and 4th Avenue to John Paul Jones Park, where there will be a ceremony honoring those who have served our country in uniform.
This year's grand marshal will be Mike Long, Chair of the New York State Conservative Party, with Iraq and Afghanistan War Vets serving as honorary grand marshals. Reviewing officer will be Col. Michael Gould, Commander of U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hamilton.
All armed services veterans are invited to be part of the parade, whether they belong to a veterans' organization or not.

Flag Day Concert
Flag Week, when many Americans fly the stars and stripes to commemorate the anniversary of its adoption, is observed during the second week in June.
State Senator Marty Golden will host a Flag Day concert on Sunday, June 10 at 3 PM in Marine Park, at Fillmore Avenue and Marine Parkway, featuring performances by the Kings County American Legion Headquarters Band and others, commemorating the 237th birthday of the United States Army and supporting the men and women in the armed services.
