Prospect Heights Democrats for Reform at the Velvet Peach

At 9 PM on January 24, President Barack Obama is scheduled to address the joint Congress about the nation's future. During the President's address, the Prospect Heights Democrats for Reform will host a meetup at the Velvet Peach Cafe, 335 Flatbush @ 7th Avenue in Brooklyn, for drinks and political conversation with like-minded fellow Democrats.

The event is free and open to the public.

Democrats have until February 9th to collect the 5,000 petition signatures required to get President Obama on the ballot in New York State. The Prospect Heights club is looking to join with other local Democrats in the fight to re-elect the President.

You can pick up petition forms at the Velvet Peach on the 24th and join the political process by getting your friends to sign.

Nobody knows when the primaries will be or where the new district lines will fall, but the Prospect Heights club has recruited two qualified candidates for the open seat in the 57th Assembly District, which covers most of Prospect Heights.
