Williamsburg's Broadway Triangle is ground zero in a legal smackdown between blacks, Latinos and Hasids.
Bloomberg nemesis Judge Emily Jane Goodman has halted construction of a massive "affordable" housing development project in the Broadway Triangle, based on opponents' claims that it is racially discriminatory.
Opponents went to court to block construction of the project, charging that it had favored Hasidic families over blacks and Latinos.
Judge Goodman agreed, and granted an injunction halting the project, saying that it will perpetuate racial segregation in the Broadway Triangle.
According to a demographer's projection, only 3% of residents in the new Broadway Triangle housing project would be black.
According to Bed-Stuy Patch, the injunction poses a major obstacle to similar projects city-wide.
